The four dimensions

Official Vizuna product documentation · Written by the Vizuna product team · Updated 12 August 2026

Vizuna measures individual trust across four dimensions: Credibility (people believe what you say), Reliability (you do what you said), Safety (people can be candid with you without backlash), and Selflessness (you balance your goals with other people's needs).

The four dimensions

Self and 1:1 reflections in Vizuna use four dimensions:

  • Credibility. People believe what you say. You know your subject, and you are straight about what you do not know.
  • Reliability. You do what you said you would do, when you said you would do it.
  • Safety. It feels safe for people to be candid with you. They can raise a concern, admit a mistake, or disagree with you without backlash.
  • Selflessness. You balance your own goals with other people's needs. This does not mean self-erasure. It means people can tell you are not only in it for yourself.

Why these four

Trust sounds like one big thing, but it breaks down. A colleague can find you completely credible and still not rely on you, because you overcommit. A manager can be reliable and credible and still feel unsafe to disagree with. Naming the four separately shows you which one to work on.

Where they apply, and where they do not

The four dimensions apply to Self and 1:1 reflections: how you show up, and how one working relationship is doing.

The model comes from the Trust Equation. Teams use a different set of seven team measures. Team health is not the same thing as any one person's trustworthiness, so Vizuna does not pretend one scale covers both.

Frequently asked questions

Does Selflessness mean putting myself last?

No. Selflessness in Vizuna means balancing your own goals with other people's needs. It is about people being able to tell you are not only in it for yourself. It does not mean self-erasure.
